IBX Gala 2018

IBX Services' 6th annual Client Appreciation Gala, at The Eglinton Grand on Eglinton Avenue West — the first of three years running that we produced it in this room.

The room is an art-deco ballroom with a painted floral mural over the proscenium. We projected "Gala Dinner 2018" across it in a gold ornamental band with the IBX logo above, washed the wall behind the stage in a rippling gold texture, and lit the side walls and columns in red and amber. A row of spots along the proscenium header lit the stage itself.

The band — The Marc Joseph Band — played from a black-skirted stage on our system, with speakers on stands at the stage sides, and the speeches came from a podium at stage left on wireless microphones checked at the tech table before doors. A camera on a tripod at the edge of the dance floor recorded the evening.

The entertainment ran all night: an electric cello duo with their instruments outlined in LED, an aerial hoop and pink silks flown in front of the stage and picked out in light, and a pianist in the foyer. The tables were dressed with tall black feather centrepieces tipped in red, on gold sequin linens.
